Parallel Lines
Parallel lines, mean the two lines will never cross. Parallel lines have the same slope.
For example: y = 3x – 2 And Y = 3x + 15 have the same slope, 3/1. Therefore, they are parallel lines.

Perpendicular Lines
Perpendicular lines are two lines that cross at a 90 degree angle. Perpendicular lines will have slopes that are negative reciprocals.
For example: y = -5/5x + 1 is perpendicular to y = 1/5 x + 4. This is because the slopes are negative 5/1 and positive 1/5-- these are negative reciprocals.
