How to Add and Subtract Rational Expressions
**a little extra challenging** but you can do it!
How to add and subtract rational expressions:
1. Factor numerator and denominator completely
2. Find the LCD (least common denominator)
3. Multiply each expression by its missing factor
4. Add (or subtract) the numerators and put them over the common denominator.
5. Simplify if necessary
